Hey guys i'm looking to get a new marker some time in the near future and just wondering what accessories i want for it. What barrel would be better? Pros and cons of both?

You could ask this on the ortac boards too. Pretty much all the guys at HDS had an Apex and there is a wealth of flatline knowledge in that group too.
I can tell you that I was using really old/brittle paint this weekend when Rehab let me borrow his A5 with flatline. It's the orange paint from Civil War and is very brittle now since I've dragged it around to every event since civil war. The flatline shot like a champ all day without any breaks, but we were fighting at close range under canopy so I didn't get a chance to really exploit it. I just know that a big complaint about the flatlines are that they're picky about paint/breaks and just from using Rehab's, I'm going to have to say that those complaints are probably because people that didn't set it up right.
I forgot to mention, with the X7 comming out I bet there will be a bunch of people that dump their A5 in favor of the newest Spec ops toy. Hoppefully that will drive down demand and cost for used A5 prices for you.

I have both used the Apex and the Flatline. I used the Flatline probably a good 2 years and was my barrell of choice, with the A5. The Apex I used on a Custom 98. I was not impressed with the Apex what so ever. In fact I thought seriously about cutting it off the end of the barrell I was using. I'm sure with more time and allot of paint I would have gotten the operational value of it down. Just something I didn't want to invest my time in. You will need a good straight barrell in the cold with the Flatline or just some very tough paint. If the paint is brittle though you always have the ability to drop your pressure. That will change all of the characteristics of your shot.
Now my wife has a barrell. Its nothing spectacular that anybody is screaming about but I will tell you this. Almost everyday I have went to play paintball that barrell has been used and there are no complaints.
RD, Rando, Woo, Myself are the main users of the barrell. Its quite and not allot of breakage. I'm not the bigest fan of the 32 degree line of products but this barrell is a solid performer.
So my suggestion is this. Buy the Flatline, its worth it, then at the same time purchase the Whisper Barrell so you don't get pissed off during the winter months.
BTW if you want to try both of the whisper and the flatline I have them both.

Flatline!! Ive only taken it off once or twice since I bought it. Im a little stuborn about change. But I know I will be using it till it dosnt work anymore.Keeping it clean is vital. Ive used many kinds of paint and had very little problems with any. The breaks I have had Ive almost always been able to shoot thru and not have to do any cleaning. I know very little about the Apex and dont care to know much more.
