Airsoft sucks right guys?
I went to a new indoor facility today. 180,000 sq ft. The place is gi-normous and built for some crazy CQB as well as some medium range and even long range from a second floor cat walk/room. Here's an aerial shot from the 2f catwalk to pique your interest ;D
What you see above is only half of the play area. This half and the other are joined by 2 choke points. The main one is perhaps 3 doorways wide and the other is an awesome doorway/hallway breech into a room type. In the picture above, the area on the left is called the Halo room. It's a 1:1 replica of one of the Halo maps. Never having played Halo myself I couldn't appreciate it for anything other than a kick ass CQB spot
There were some darker areas as well as some well lit areas
I had some awesome battles in the morning and just when I thought it couldn't get any better... they turn on the FOG machines
Another 2f shot looking at the other half of the field
Some guy had the balls to hide in this air duct and cap people while they walked by
Another nice touch is that they have props and run missions. I got to be a drug dealer for an hour. Check out my meth lab
There are some random rooms setup for room clearing (swat training I was told)
Check out the attention to detail. If you look closely, there is a running fountain that shoots water about a foot or two into the air and you'll notice the "pole" is actually a mock telephone pole with dangling wires and everything
The best part about this place is the way the ATC guys run the show. It reminds me more of renegade style than the speedball/paintball fields. I got to do everything from barricading doors to force the opfor to come in one way to kicking down said doors, shooting through windows, dragging a chair around to stand on top to shoot off of, etc. The motto of the day was pretty much, battle as hard and as crazy as you can until somebody tells you "don't do that next time". At one point we were rolling a dumpster down the street using it as a moving tank lol ;D
Anyways I need to stop writing here, but at the end of the day playing airsoft at this place I was out
$20 entry
$15 gas (70miles to the place)
$5 BB's
--------
$40
A friend hooked me up with a loaner and some of the locals even fed me MRE for lunch. That's probably the best $40 I've spent in a while lol. Good times!
