Well, looks like the Soviet biological weapon was damaged in the final leg of it’s journey, spilling and infecting some of it’s guarding crew in the tank. The zombies came out of nowhere and wreaked havoc on anything human in sight. From the sounds of things the outbreak has begun to spread infecting others… Stay tuned for more intel in the coming weeks… Next months HDS game will be Part 2 in the OP Falling Star story. This one will incorporate zombies (with different elimination rules than today). The Oct. game will both celebrate the Halloween season by allowing players to come in costume if they want (stock up on those zombie masks soon) and to benefit local charity by holding a canned food drive in the spirit and honor of “World Zombie Day” . World Zombie Day is an annual international event that celebrates zombies in pop culture while simultaneously fighting hunger with a canned food drive (http://www.myspace.com/worldzombieday).
Now on to today… Don’t really know where to start with this one other than giving a big thanks to everyone who came out to the game today and I hope you all had a good time breaking the field back in! The scenario ended in a draw and came down to a best of 3 quickdraw pistol deathmatch for the game win. Each team selected a player to represent them, and it came down to the 3rd and final round with the Soviet team taking the win this time. The entire game was really close and everyone played hard on each side. I got some killer pictures and video and will be posting more pictures in the next couple days. I posted a few to get started with in the OP Falling Star photo thread…

ED – Biggest thanks goes to you for giving all of Central OR a safe place where we can get together and have events like we did today. After we lost the KLF Central OR paintballers lost that common meeting place where you could always find a game. You’re the man for giving that back to us!
Refs and event staff - Thanks for helping make everything go as smoothly as it did. Couldn’t have done this game without you!
Walkons – From all of C.O. thank you guys and gals so much for coming over and to battle with us and for bringing the tank! That definitely took the game to another level! I know Shrek told me that he originally built that tank because of and for HDS! I hope you, Fiona and family had a good time running it in the game! I know I got some sweet footage, the turret cam worked out great and is definitely going to give some paintball video from a perspective that a LOT of people have never seen before! Will get the video to you asap after I complete it. I’ll be in touch.
Cascade Comandos – I didn’t get a chance to chat with you guys much but thanks for making the trip over to play with us Central OR guys! Hope we might see you at future HDS events.
Teuffel Hunden – Thanks for the strong showing today, it was good to catch up with those of you I had a chance to talk to! Congrats on the MVT award! I saw you guys display lots of good teamwork while I roamed the field today. Jen and Batman thanks for manning the HDS van! And Wyze, that shirtless tank kill at the facilty was just awesome, I gave my vote on MVP to you for that alone (got it on video too). Nicely done man!
Operators – Thank you for all your help with props, filling people in and otherwise helping make things run smoothly. As always it’s a pleasure teaming up with you guys whether its shooting people on the field or working together to throw a game.
Cory – Glad you made it out. Wanted to give you a big thanks from central OR for giving us a place online to build a community like we have and that helps huge amounts by giving local paintballers a place to communicate with each other and inform each other of whats going on locally and beyond.
Wolfman and crew – Good to see ya again, looking forward to hopefully either playing along side or against you next time!
S.O.M. – Good hard battles as always, well done fellas!
Citizen Soldiers – Glad you guys made it, see ya soon!
As AZ mentioned at the game debriefing we’d like to hear what you guys did and did not think worked well today. This was the first time out at a new field and we gave it our best shot but know there is always something more to be learned or to incorporate to make games even better. HDS is first and foremost a club, and we’d like to make each new game an improvement over the last by getting feedback from its members and guests. We can only do that if people that attend tell us what they think about what we’re doing, so please let us know! If you don’t want to post your comments on the open forum you can always PM either AZ or myself.
And for the video…. You’ll see both an OP: Falling Star video well as a separate short video exclusively featuring team Walkons tank, “Black Sunshine” both from Hellfish TV in the near future.
