I was looking at the calender and realized today is Columbus day, that got me to thinking. Bear with me, am I wrong or has it not been proven recently that Columbus in reality wasnt much of a man or explorer. Now I realize that the federal gov.(THE man) has been taking C.day off for so many years that even though they now know what a mistake that was, there not going to change it. THE man takes every day off that he can, been that way since before I was born! I'm not about to suggest that THE man change his habits. But wouldn't it be cool if they still took the day off, only we celebrated an American hero like say, Lewis B "Chesty" Puller. Chesty was a real man, genuine Marine, hell he was even awarded 5 Navy crosses, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Silver Star, 2 Legions of Merit (w/valor device), Bronze Star (w/valor device), Air Medal (w/Gold stars for 3 awards), Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation (w/4 bronze stars), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (w/bronze star), and W.W.1 Victory Medal (w/West Indies clasp). And those are just from the U.S., he has numerous foriegn awards as well! THE man even named a frigate after him, U.S.S. LEWIS B. PULLER (FFG-23). I ask you, can you be more American? So how about Chesty Puller Day? who's for it? Sorry for the rant, I just really dont like Chris Columbus. EDITED for superior hero replacment
