Thank you all for your suggestions. I will keep you updated as soon as we decide what we are going to use. Like I said at the start, this is Redds gun so it really comes down to what she wants

I'm not really an egg advocate, but here's some information for you from an egg owner.
I have an egg (evolution2). It was what was on my cocker last weekend. The rated BPS is ball drop bps (ie, hopper not on gun) either that or max burst bps. On gun, they feed a bit slower. Perhaps 10-12ish reliably if you're using 9.6v batteries. By reliably I mean that occasionally it will slow down to this speed especially when completely full. On a gun that doesn't have eyes that slow down would = chop so be sure to check the feed rate while it's on gun and in the worst case scenario (hopper completely full and loading up the motor). The real drawback of the egg I think is that due to the inverted lid, it takes quite a bit of dexterity to fill one handed with your gun leveled/shooting while you fill. On the other hand, you'll never be one of those guys that dumps their hopper all over the ground. I've fallen flat on my egg before and it didn't pop open or crack at all. The new eggs have a nice strong shell. The original eggs were reported to be fairly weak ;D
The reason I stuck with my egg is the payload. There is an inner ball ramp that I removed so that I can fit 230-240 balls in there comfortably. The extra 40 ball capacity is gold when refilling with 140rnd tubes. You should be able to find these used with a z-board for $40-$45ish. The z-board is nice as it not only feeds a bit faster, but it slows down if it doesn't see any balls for a set amount of time. Fast spinning blades tend to bounce the last few balls all over the place and this is one way to counter that.
Last thing I'll mention is that if you can turn down the rate of fire on that thing, I highly recommend it. It will help eliminate chops and after having a gun that can feed 25bps all day long (qloaded SP8), I turn mine down to 8-9 anyways.
Almost forgot, I've never heard of a hopper that spins constantly? Is that by design?

Ha, boy this thread kinda went to Hoppers in a hurry lol. Deeno, weak eggs...lol. As far as turning down the bps.... um," ain't a gonna happen" that's a direct quote from the boss and what she says goes. Its her gun and she wants it to shoot full auto when she touches it off. However, I will try to convey to her that full auto and max bps dont necessarily mean the same thing. But I think I'm just going to ask her to read your last post, I think she will grasp the concept better indirectly, and you did a great job explaining. ;D Splained by deeno worked fer me!
