I would like to thank Smeed for putting in all the time and effort into setting up games. Even though time and the amount of people didn't work out. It would be hard to put on games like the one's Smeed originally planed without a commitment from other teams besides our own. But the day went awesome. The weather was perfect, not a rain drop all day during play. I'd like to thank Gys at Hoskings for making a BYOP day and I'm glad he did because he didn't have enough paint on hand for all the players who showed up. ;D One thing that was really cool was our team usually gets split up, but thanks to 19 Delta and all the newbs that showed, we were able to play as our team with a few extras for most of the day.
Game One:
Our start point was the Village. Dusteroads and his 2 brothers were with us. Delta and some other newbs were starting at Scenario woods. JBolt lined us out in an L-shaped formation..game on and we pushed down through Little woods while our other side pushed straight at them through the Towers. We crossed the road below little woods, got in the brush and started moving. Then I saw one of 19 delta with his back to me he was directing his newbs I got a bead on him and emptied half of my tac cap on him (approx 100 rounds) and the rest of the newbs took off running just as Fiona, JBolt, and Lumpy were stalking up on them to take them out. Now they were half way around the other side of Churchill before they stopped running. RD and the rest of our formation coming from the towers field pushed them into the back corner of Churchill. Fiona, Jbolt, and Lumpy broke off to my right and I kept pushing the attack towards Churchill putting the newbs down. I don't know what happened, but Jbolt got taken out. It was crazy, there were paintballs flying everywhere it was an intense battle. We proceeded to clear and sweep their final position to end the first game.
Game Two:
We swapped sides and played again. As we were discussing our plan, we were sure that Delta would curve through little woods and attack Churchill from the bottom side, but they sent a large force over the towers field across the open field firing balls and running fast. So RD and I took our squad and pushed into Churchill giving return fire to stop their advance over the open ground. We secured Churchill, I left a small defensive force at Churchill and took the rest of the squad into the west end of little woods. Duste had 2 tangos going low trying to get into the bottom corner, I told him to stand fast and hold his ground. Rd and I pushed through little woods and he said look to your left shrek. There were 3 newbs all huddled together with their backs to me, i couldn't believe it. I light the shit out of them. Rd covered while I reloaded, just as I closed my hopper, Mr Freeze and his brother came up about 10 yards from the same direction as the newbs I shot at em and got 1 and then Mr. Freeze dove int the brush, I kept sending balls his way hoping I could flush him out so RD could get a shot. Just as I was reaching down for a pod, Mr Freeze ran..I gave him the good news. RD started humping toward the top tower, he took some fire, dropped down. I spun to my left gave cover fire, RD ran up to the tower and shot out 2 tangos. By that time the rest of our team had mopped up the rest of the enemy and the game was over.
Game 3:
Smeed set up the flags while everyone rearmed and reaired. One thing that put a different twist on this game was he mixed up the flags so that #1 red flag was with #5 blue, and so on. I didn't realize it until the 2nd flag was recovered. One push was cool...Fiona, Jbolt, Lumpy, RD and I were sweeping along the lower road and hillside towards the lower end of Churchill. We were looking for flag #2 and Fiona spotted 3 tangos. I couldn't see shit between my fogged up mask and the brush. She did an awesome job of pointing out the enemy allowing me to get a shot through the brush taking out 2 giving the rest of my squad room to push forward to retrieve the flag. On other cool part of the game was Smeed decided to help the other team, cause they hadn't retrieved any of their flags and we were working on # 3 with knowledge of #4 as well. He switched to their side to help out. It took some time for us to figure out that Smeed was shooting at us. All of a sudden we met strong resistance along the lower road and sniper log. Fiona and I were quickly put out on two attempts to navigate the lower road. So we moved up the hill and pushed forward through the timber. I finally located flag # 5 and called out for support, but everyone was engaged, so I held fast until Fiona moved into my area and drew fire from the ridge line. That dude didn't even know I was sitting there. I shifted to my left to get a bead on him I gave him a really good burst and he ducked down behind some brush. returned fire to me then I emptied my hopper on him and sent him packing. HaHa it was Smeed. Spike came in and ran the flag back for the end of this 2 hour game.
Game 4 & 5:
We pretty much played elimination with defend and attack Churchill. We were all low on paint and air and it was getting dark and cold. This made for good shadows and alot of sneaking around. These games, Gys and Elmer came out and played. On the first game, Elmer scared the shit out of me, he came out of the shadows and just wiped me out....I didn't even get a round off. Second game, Gys and I were moving through the battle field and we shot out close to half of the Opfor.
Game 6:
This game was played by those who had paint and air left. It was basically speed ball on the towers field in the near dark. It was fast and fun.
