Sup Walkons? I'm Jason, aka Cannon Fodder, yesterday was kinda my paintball debut. After being a ref at Supergame I decided I liked being able to shoot back instead of just being shot at. Like I said, I'm just starting out so I need advice on gear, markers, the works cuz I currently have nothing. I'm looking to get really serious really quick so any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't really have any particular play style, I will do whatever, whenever without complaint. Basically, I don't care what I'm doing as long as I'm on the field helping my team. That's pretty much me in a nutshell, any questions or anything just hit me up, I'm an open book.

Welcome to the boards Jason. Lots of free advice to be had here, but the best way is to try as much as possible. Go to a store like Extreme Velocity in Salem and try stuff on. The usually are pretty good at letting you handle the markers too to see which ones feel right. Once you find stuff you like, find someone that has one and ask if you can test it out a little.

If possible, its best to try out the gear that interests you the most. I have a lot of gear that can be tried out that range from pump markers to MilSim to Magfed to electronic. If you happen to be at a game I am attending, I can set you up with a variety of styles for you to try out and see what you like best.

Welcome. I only have a phenom and A5s, but you are welcome to test them out during a game. The team is great at helping out and showing you ALL the different options out there

Thanks for the warm welcomes guys. I'm gonna be at Hds, so hopefully see you all there. I think I'm looking for a mil-sim marker, but as I haven't used anything other than an A5 I don't really know what I want. I'm thinking JT full coverage flex 8, carbon fiber tank, and a dye rotor hopper. Am I headed in the right direction?

It all depends on how much money you want to spend.. But so far that sounds like the right track..

I like my gog g1. It versatile and easy to maintain. Uses it in different weather including wet weather and haven't had issues since getting it.

A5's and SP1's/G1's are great milsim markers. The SP1 is a little more efficient than the A5, but you can really customize a Tippmann.
The best mask is the one that fits YOU. My only advise is to look for the ones eith the most ventilation. Sunvisors and full head protection can lead to increased fogging.

Ok, so just picked up a pinocchio loader, I hope I don't sound like I'm beating a dead horse here, but with the full coverage I'm looking at the extra coverage can be removed, so if I had a fogging problem I could remove the extra

Would that make it a "better" investment? im also going to snag a jt fan. Or should I just get a normal mask? Either way I wanna get the fan. My previous post was logged before I finished it, my apologies.

I highly recommend a fan no matter what mask you get. I know some guys that have the jt full coverage mask and swear by it...other hate it. purely personal preference

I rock a Dye I4.. it takes a lot to fog it. You can get an I3 and the fan for cheap if you look around...

Thanks for all the advice guys, I had no idea where to even begin. I think the setup I'm gonna end up with is a tm7, pinocchio, JT either spectra or flex 8 haven't quite nailed that one down yet, (with fan either way), an empire 68/4500 tank, and molly vest rather than pod pack. Abby other gear/mod suggestions?
